SmartFlicks is a beta product, and as such, we are still shaking out bugs. Bookmark this page for updates on issues and questions.
1. I got a Gateway Error. What does that mean?
We are seeing this issue infrequently, but it does show up. We think this has to do with a data threshold issue. Click the menu button and you will see a "Refresh Page" option. Give that a click. It should work after one or two times.
2. How to I use the graphical navigation bar across the bottom of the screen?
Press the "spacebar" to use the graphical navigation bar. Once it takes focus, you just scroll across the bar to select options. Also, you can always use the standard menu by clicking the menu button.
3. How Secure is this application?
Your username and password is encrypted and the Pyxis Mobile server is on an SSL enabled site.
4. I'm getting generic connection errors on login.
From the menu screen, go to the options screen and manually change the "connection type" to "consumer BIS" or "consumer TCP" and try again. If the connection is very slow, change the HTTPS to HTTP.
5. The application throws up an error on client configuration that styleconfig is empty?
UPDATED!!!
Follow these steps:
- Log out of the application. If you are in the app, back out to the home page and click the "menu " button and "Exit" the app.
- Give it a few seconds and come back into the app by clicking on the icon.
- Don't Login
- Access the menu by clicking the menu button on your device, not the trackball
- Select "Options"
- You're going to manually change the URL that the application is aiming at. scroll to the URL, and remove the "S" from "HTTPS". I'll explain why in a minute.
- Click the "back button" on the blackBerry, and opt to "Save" changes.
As it turns out, there is a BlackBerry OS 4.5 and 4.6 bug associated with https traffic. Removing HTTPS does not, however, mean that your data is not secure. All traffic is encrypted at all times.
If you are experimental, once you get into the application successfully, you could try going back and adding the "s" again, and logging back in. You shouldn't see a problem again, but we are not positive as we have been unable to reproduce this in the lab.
when entering correct login credentials, I get an error saying incorrect login credentials. I've validated them several times. I am using a long user name (email address)

Hi - I don't see any mention in your terms of service that my netflix login info won't be kept confidential and will only be used to provide access for me to netflix. Can you correct that?

Hello,
I am trying to put Smartflix on my blackberry pearl to try out and let our customers know about it, I work for a cellular company, but whenever I click on the link, I get a message saying that it can only be installed on a blackberry and I must log into the address through my blackberry device. Yet I am going through my blackberry. Both on it's browser and Opera Mini and I get the message on both. What do I need to do or can I download this someplace else or send it to my e-mail from someplace for download?
Thanks
John

John, Carrie, and Lisa,
make sure that you are using the blackberry browser to download the application and that it is not set to emulate a different browser (ie, firefox, etc).
To verify this, check your browser settings in the following areas.
1. From the main ribbon, go to Options (the wrench icon) and select Advanced Options followed by Browser. Make sure that the default browser configuration and MDS browser configuration are set to the Blackberry Browser (not your carrier's specific browser).
2. From browser itself, select options, select Browser Configuration, and make sure that your Browser Identification is set to Blackberry.
Save your changes and try to download the application again. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Does the application use the phone line? I got asked for permission to access the phone line, and I don't have a package for the phone since I carry two devices.

I have the Blackberry Storm 9350 and recently upgraded the software -- effectively wiping out nearly everything on the phone (including things that were in My World.) I just tried to purchase the new version through App World, and while my log in and everything is legit, and my PayPal is fine, it tells me that I've already purchased the program.
Any help you could give me in alleviating this problem would be greatly appreciated.
